Arepa tequeños (With corn flour P.A.N)

Arepa tequeños

Hello, arepa lovers! We are super excited for this recipe, it is a gluten free version of one of our favorite Venezuelan dishes.

Tequeños are always part of any Venezuelan celebration and this recipe is a mix between tequeños and the gluten free arepas that you know and love. Let’s start!

Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup of maize flour
  2.  beaten egg
  3. 1/2 cup of water
  4. 1 tbsp of brown sugar
  5. A pinch of salt
  6. Fresh cheese, cut in little sticks
  7. Oil, to fry them

*add to tbsp of oil to the dough if you prefer to cook them in the air fryer

  1. Mix flour, egg, water, sugar and salt (this is where you would add the oil). Use your hands to get the perfect consistency, a flexible dough that does not stick to your hands.
  2. Take a small amount and form a little ball. Press it until it’s thin, put the stick of cheese in the middle and wrap the dough around it.
  3. Fry it for about 4 minutes in hot oil, medium heat.
  4. Enjoy!
